About Shannon


Shannon Pivoney (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who brings with her a client-centered and trauma-informed approach to therapy. Shannon has a wide range of experiences in community mental health and sexual assault agencies as well as working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, life changes and transitions, grief, anger management, stress management, geriatric issues, LGBTQ+ issues and personality disorders.


Shannon received her Masters degree in Human Development Counseling at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Shannon looks forward to offering evidence-based tools and knowledge to her clients. Shannon is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-processing (EMDR) therapy, cognitive processing therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy.

We will work together to create treatment goals and strategies to find the healing you need and deserve.” In her free time, Shannon enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, gardening, beekeeping and spending time with her husband and pets.
